Holistic medicine treats the mind, body and spirit, so that most ailments - mental, physical or emotional - can be eased or completely cured. Symptoms are seen as an imbalance in the whole system, so that not only are those symptoms dealt with, but the whole immune system is strengthened, which in turn creates feelings of well-being. AcupunctureAcupuncture has been practised for over 2,000 years. It is slowly being integrated into Western medicine, mainly for pain control, but it can help equally well with many other complaints such as anxiety, arthritis, eczema, sports injuries, hayfever, asthma, migraine, high blood pressure, menstrual problems, intestinal problems, pregnancy management and delivery, and much more. It is a safe treatment for people of all ages. Traditionally it was used as a preventative measure to boost the immune system and thereby avoid illness and disease. Many people use it if they are not actually 'ill' but feel they need a little boost to achieve optimum health. It can be used safely alongside conventional Western medicine with both acute and chronic conditions. The number of treatments required depends entirely on each individual, but it is usual to expect to attend for treatment once a week for at least 4 - 6 weeks. All our Acupuncturists are members of the British Acupuncture Council and observe the BAcC Code of Practice. Needles used are disposable to provide protection against the transmission of infectious diseases. HomoeopathyHomoeopathy is a gentle, but powerful, form of healing and prevention that is suitable for anyone from babies to the elderly. Usually administered in pill form, the remedies are pleasant tasting, non toxic and not habit forming - even safe for pregnant women and very helpful during pregnancy and labour. It is a system based on the natural Law of Similars. The medicine, in its crude state, will produce the symptoms in a healthy person that appear in the patient needing help. When the remedies are diluted and potentised they trigger the body to produce a natural cure for those same symptoms. Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician, began developing this form of healing 200 years ago, but it has been recognised and used in various ways throughout recorded history. Contact Information
